DO'S AND DON'TS

Here are some recommendations to have the most successful cake smash session!

Bring reinforcements!

Some things I recommend you bring...

  • A drink! The icing can be super sweet for the kiddos. A sippy cup of milk or water will come in handy.
  • Change of clothes. Everyone gets messy. A change of clothes for baby (and maybe even you) helps with cleanup.
  • Their favorite toy. This can be a little overstimulating for kiddos. Bringing a small piece of comfort helps keep them calm.
  • An extra set of hands. This isn't necessary, but if mom/dad/grandma is available, that extra set of hands will help!

Choosing the best time!

Cake smash sessions are so fun and playful, but can definitely be overstimulating and overwhelming for your baby. Planning a time of day they are usually in the best mood will help this session be successful! Overall they will end up actually eating very little of the cake, so a meal or snack before the session will help their belly stay happy.

I will take care of all set up/clean up. I provide all props we agree on, but you are welcome to bring anything additional you may want to add!
